If so, here's your chance to join the VBC (Value Based Care) Data Pipelines team at athenahealth. This team will be responsible for wrangling data to enhance athenaOne’s product suite which delivers accessible, high-quality, and sustainable healthcare for all.


Position Summary: We are looking for a Senior Product Management Associate to join this newly formed VBC Data Platform team. You will serve as a point-person to drive the execution of research and analysis in support of product design and backlog prioritization; and work with other Product Associates, Product Managers, and Scrum Teams to transform healthcare data into actionable insights that empower clinicians, researchers, and administrators to deliver better care.

The Team: The VBC Data Pipelines team is responsible for building out efficient and resilient data pipelines for ingesting, cleansing, transforming, and enriching data to unlock the value of athena’s value-based care (VBC) offerings and building out athena’s next generation population health workflows. The team will enable the delivery of insights and drive actions across multiple sets of users, including Care Managers, Analysts, and ACO’s and healthcare providers.


Job Responsibilities

  • Product Owner for scrum team, managing product responsibilities in scrum processes.

  • Guide the team with execution and clarifying details on the product solution, manage cross-team dependencies, and build/define/groom stories with the team.

  • Creates multi-release product roadmaps and communicates internally, noting the stages and timelines for various work.

  • Identifies product gaps and defines requirements to fill these product gaps.

  • Works with the UX team to identify and understand user problems and requirements.

  • Works with the Development to understand technology implications in solution ideas.

  • Works with the product leadership to recommend the best course of action to achieve intents.

  • Gains alignment from multiple stakeholders; recognize the need for alignment.

  • Understands product dependencies and negotiate the trade-offs with the appropriate product managers.

Education, Experience, & Skills Required

  • At least 5 to 8 years of work experience with Min 4 years in a Product Management role.

  • Min 4 years of professional experience with software product development.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Business, or Product Design with Healthcare Industry Background.

  • Experience working with Agile (Scrum) teams desired.

  • Understanding of healthcare/health IT environment a plus.

  • Demonstrated success at driving vision and prioritization of products in a dynamic environment using analytic and quantitative capabilities.

  • Ability to explain your positioning to various people around the company in an effective way.

  • Ability to make good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward.

  • Ability to focus on the desired outcomes and value for both the business and the customers when making decisions.
