We are looking for a Lead Frontend Software Engineer to join our development team who builds the next generation of patient-facing applications. You are a senior level developer who demonstrates design & engineering excellence and has experience building full-stack web applications, preferably in public and private cloud environments. You are an excellent communicator and nimble learner who embraces the challenges and complexity of working in the healthcare space.
The Team
The Enabling Platforms Org empowers teams who builds patient-facing applications by providing a robust ecosystem of platforms, services, and reference implementations, enabling them to focus on solving their unique domain-specific challenges.
As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with a talented group of frontend developers and UX designers to drive innovation, establish best practices, and lay the foundation for an exceptional new Design System.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and contribute individually to code and system design/development as part of a team
- Collaborate inclusively with cross-functional team members to develop solutions and promote productivity and effectiveness
- Take ownership of what the team builds and coordinate efforts to ensure proper adoption
- Develop knowledge to act as a domain expert; share business and technical insights with the broader engineering and product organization
- Mentor, coach, advise and lead engineering team members
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with significant product development expertise
- Proven track record of building Design Systems from the ground up or significant contributions to enterprise level Design Systems
- Extensive web application development experience with focus on the Frontend (e.g., MicroUI architecture, responsive designs)
- Proficient with the JavaScript/Typescript and React framework (including concepts like hooks, contexts, refs, etc.)
- Proficient in CSS (knowledge of layouts, responsiveness, accessibility, etc.)
- Ability to write code that is technically sound, performant, scalable, and readable
- Ability to lead teams/technical projects including technical design, scoping, and estimation
- Strong communication skills with a variety of audiences
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins along with git, bitbucket and other source code repositories
- Experience in testing framework (e.g., Jest, Cypress) and GraphQL Experience in building accessible web applications
