Position Summary: We are looking for a self-driven “Junior Anaplan Model Builder” to advance our Anaplan Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) environment and adjacent areas of the tech stack on the Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Center of Excellence Transformation team.

You are tenacious and strive for excellence in delivering what our FP&A team and our senior leadership need to manage the business.

The Team: Our FP&A team drives decisions at all levels, from Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team strategy to manager-level tactical operations, by analyzing and reporting financial results and developing forecasts.

Within FP&A, the Center of Excellence Transformation team is a highly agile and visible team of trusted partners; we are continuously creating, improving, and partnering to advance athena’s forecasting and reporting capabilities across people, process, and technology solutions. You’ll be part of a 4-person Model Builder team based in the US and India.


Job Responsibilities

  • Act as a Business Systems Analyst to partner with FP&A users to identify process gaps and areas for improvement, with particular focus on the Corporate track

  • Translate business problems and spreadsheets into best-in-class Anaplan multi-dimensional solutions; gather requirements, design, develop, test, UAT, and maintain models

  • Support all steps of the application development lifecycle

  • Modify existing models to optimize, improve, and/or create new functionality and user experience

  • Define data integration and process scheduling requirements in partnership with IT leveraging ETL tools (Informatica); provide guidance to data owners on Anaplan staging best practices, and help reconcile data when applicable

  • Administer critical components of Anaplan, including settings and workspace usage

  • Resolve questions, including researching, explaining, documenting, and escalating issues to Anaplan support

  • Communicate status, from key milestones to tactical bug fixes, including weekly updates, team meetings, and ad hoc conversations​

  • Assist with hierarchy governance process, including monthly review files and bulk data updates

  • Become an Anaplan platform guru through understanding monthly platform updates and achieving additional Anaplan Model Builder certifications

  • Willingness to step outside of your comfort zone to resolve issues and implement enhancements that help move the team forward

  • Set and work toward long-term goals that align toward becoming a Solution Architect

Qualifications

  • Ability to demonstrate examples of ambition and resolving work-related challenges through independent work

  • Min 1+ years of Anaplan model building experience, including at least Level 1 Model Building certification and 1 full lifecycle implementation in Anaplan

  • Demonstrated Model Builder technical ability in modules with multiple dimensions, import and export actions, and ALM

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills with a customer-first approach

  • Proactive obsession with getting the details right and executing projects on time

  • Strong communication skills: concisely align, teach, and document

  • Operations-minded: a well-organized, action-oriented planner who understands process flows

  • Familiarity with financial analysis, modeling, & reporting and accounting concepts

  • Track record of maintaining strict confidentiality

  • Work timings - 1:30pm to 10:30pm IST
