We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Collector Product within our Patient Pay & Insurance zone. This Senior Product Manager will be responsible for quickly learning the business problems that our zone builds software to address and the opportunities we have to improve our customerskey performance metrics. Your job will involve ownership of complex and/or multiple products areas within Collector’s portfolio. This includes understanding both the market and the customer, contributing to a product vision, developing business cases, and driving the delivery of our products.

You will also build outcome-focused roadmaps based on general product opportunities as well as athena’s corporate strategies. This product manager will have extremely strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively articulate business problems and lead cross-functional teams to build impactful solutions. They will be a true leader in their space and be able to evangelize their product vision both internally and to our customers. Ultimately, this product manager will support athena’s mission to improve healthcare for our customers as well as their patients.

This is a hybrid position based in Chennai, India and expects this person to go to the office periodically.

About Collector’s Patient Pay & Insurance zone: Our team of product managers are building new and exciting capabilities to improve how we help health practices collect the right patient insurance, understand eligibility benefits, improve cost transparency, drive effective billing workflows and offer flexible payment solutions. We believe that our success is attributed to a diverse group of individuals that prioritize teamwork and open-minded collaboration to design and build the best solutions we can for our customers. We value both qualitative and quantitative inputs throughout our product delivery cycle as we build iterative solutions that bring value to our customers early and often.


Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Management leaders to drive portfolio and product strategy

  • Focuses on business problems before solutions

  • Serves as Product Owner for scrum team(s) covering assigned product area(s)

  • Defines roadmaps, OKRs, epics and user stories that clearly address business problems

  • Understands market opportunity via user needs, market forces and applicable business models; with regards to what would best serve our clients today as well as in the future

  • Maintains an analytic / problem solving mentality

  • Exercises value driven prioritization and can navigate challenging cross-functional, cross-divisional dependencies

  • Able to make tough decisions and be the voice of the product vision within the organization

  • Engage with Sales, CSMs, Product Marketing, and other internal partner teams as needed to determine best ways to communicate product to customers

  • Employs strong negotiation & logical-reasoning skills to ensure making the right tradeoffs

  • Support feature rollouts through alpha, beta and general availability by collaborating with customer-facing teams, analyzing feature impact, and preparing communications


Typical Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience in Product Management is required

  • 7+ years of product management experience

  • Demonstrated success at driving vision and prioritization of products in a dynamic environment using analytic and quantitative capabilities

  • Prior experience in healthcare and RCM (Revenue Cycle Management) workflows is a big plus

  • Possess strong technical understanding of Product development

  • Expert using product management best practices and agile development frameworks

  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
