Development Manager, Integration, IRIS Data Platform – Cambridge, MA
Position Overview
The Integration team builds native platform solutions that enable seamless connectivity between distributed systems. This management role in the Database Platforms (DP) department will contribute to the InterSystems IRIS, InterSystems IRIS for Health and InterSystems Health Connect products.
The Integration team needs a technical manager who can lead a team that enhances and maintains platform system integration support including an integration engine for business processing, messaging adapters and system integration APIs.

This position is in the InterSystems headquarters in Cambridge, MA.
Responsibilities
This manager will be responsible for the productivity of a small team of developers. They will spend 40- 60% of their time making code changes, in code review, and in design/architecture discussions. They will maintain documentation of the architecture of their area of responsibility. They will ensure that all product changes from their team follow the expected development workflow which includes the use of source control, code reviews and clear documentation. They will also triage issues reported from the field and from internal users.
They will be responsible for their team’s ability to release high quality solutions to market needs identified and prioritized by the product management team in a timely fashion. They will be responsible for staffing their team accordingly and arguing for budgeting additional openings.
This role requires the candidate to collaborate with several other teams including the DP Language Interoperability, Server Runtime, Healthcare Technologies, and Cloud Core development teams. It also requires the candidate to work with shared services like Release Engineering, Learning Services and Documentation, and Quality Development.
The technology stack includes C++, Java, Python, ObjectScript and InterSystems IRIS.
Position Requirements
5+ years of experience as a technical team lead or technical manager
Interested in transforming our data platform products for cloud services
Expertise in advanced networking concepts and web service design
Expertise in messaging protocols
Expertise in integration adapters for a wide range of standards and technologies
Demonstrated skill at driving results in a timely fashion
Able to balance competing pressures and priorities
5+ years of experience with Python, GoLang, Java or a similar programming language

College degree in a technical field like Engineering or Computer Science
Preferred Qualifications
Professional experience designing large-scale distributed systems
Professional experience with ObjectScript and C/C++
Professional experience with IRIS Interoperability
