The Opportunity

As Head of Brand, Product and Affiliated Distribution (“BP&AD”) Shared Services you be responsible for managing teams of people who partner throughout the MassMutual enterprise to support the data, reporting and financial needs of BP&AD Leadership.

The Team

As part of Brand, Product and Affiliated Distribution, the Distribution Platforms and Readiness team is responsible for driving strategy and execution related to technology, governance, reporting, readiness and change management to support MassMutual’s product, marketing and career distribution organizations. The Impact:

You will lead teams associated with providing a single source of truth for data, reporting and financial support for the Brand, Product and Affiliated Distribution Channel.  This includes leading the strategy and execution around delivering insightful information to leadership for use in making strategic decisions. Key components of the role include:  

  • Developing and executing a Shared Services strategy, organizational model and roadmap to address and fulfill customer needs based off of one team, one goal.

  • Strategy and administration of Variable Incentive Plans (VIC) for all eligible BP&AD employees and managers

  • Leading teams of individuals responsible for the collection, organization, analysis and dissemination of significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.  

  • Ensuring data is managed across multiple sources and that relationships are understood throughout a variety of uses of data.

  • Evolving current sales and data reporting strategies and tools; exploring the use of technology to enhance reporting capabilities within the home office and MMFA field.

  • Leading your team to derive meaningful insights through data and financial presentations and visualization.

  • Driving technology innovation in use of data and the evolution of systems and tools to present real time data to customers.

  • Oversight of complex ELT-level budget including expense management, forecasting and reconciliation; also includes reporting to executive and senior leadership in a way that summarizes and interprets data in a manner that “tells a story”.

  • Aligning team work priorities with the enterprise; ensuring collaboration with senior leadership, especially within Finance and Technology organizations.

  • Establishing credibility with senior leadership throughout the MassMutual enterprise; ensuring data is accurate and accessible at all times.

  • Operating with a high level of critical thinking and analytical skills, including instilling a data-driven mentality within the team.   

  • Modelling change leadership /agility as a change champion. Successfully personally navigating and guiding teams/peers to navigate in an agile and evolving culture of change.

  • Leading, managing and mentoring others to build a culture of innovation / ideation, inclusion, and diverse thought leadership.

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 10 years of experience in finance and/or data management

  • 7+ years of experience managing teams

  • Ability to motivate and inspire staff through establishing vision and purpose and evangelizing the importance of shared service functions.

  • Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals across the organization and at all levels across all mediums (verbal, written, presentation)

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and data-driven mindset that translates into leadership skills

  • Sound business judgment in an environment of rapid change – ability to respond to changes in direction, tight deadlines, and high-pressure situations

  • Broadly recognized as an effective, strong collaborator.

  • Strong financial acumen, including distribution compensation, expense management

Ideal qualifications include:

  • Experience in financial services/insurance

  • Familiarity with MassMutual affiliated and third-party distribution systems

Salary Range: $167,800.00-$220,200.00 Apply
