The Opportunity

As pace of change continues to accelerate externally and internally, ETX has greater needs to monitor and understand the internal and external environment, make use of data analytics, and generate swift insights to inform our decision-making toward simplifying our technology and operating environment to enable scalable growth and deliver an exceptional experience. As part of MassMutual’s Office of ETX Strategic Initiatives, your efforts will focus on developing synthesized perspectives and supporting materials on the technology, data, and cyber landscape and how ETX capabilities are positioned to support MassMutual’s overall business strategy.

The Team

Reporting to the Head of ETX Strategic Initiatives – this is a newly formed team on the Strategy & Governance Team, to support ETX in achieving their strategic goals.

The Impact:

  • Working across the ETX leadership team to define and articulate a short- and long-term strategy that leverages MassMutual’s technology, cyber, and data capabilities to support MassMutual’s business strategy
  • Providing insights and developing strategies through deployment, to drive operations excellence in support of ETX’s strategic priority of simplifying our tech and operating environment, to enable scalable growth and deliver an exceptional experience
  • Partnering with Portfolio Leads and other leaders across ETX to develop an integrated, three-year roadmap
  • Developing ETX strategy and roadmap reporting for various audiences, including the Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team, ETX employees, and business partners
  • Developing and monitoring KPI’s / performance and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Providing the ETX leadership team with routine updates on strategic roadmap progress
  • Evaluating performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement
  • Delivering bespoke research projects that influence ETX’s strategy
  • Support the Integration Management initiative to integrate and align our ETX processes and systems across the Home Office, MassMutual Romania, and MassMutual India helping us drive operational excellence and deliver on our objectives

The Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of proven management consulting or strategic partnership experience, with a strong track record of successful delivery, involving data analysis, statistics, and/or complex problem solving
  • Working onsite in our Springfield or Boston, MA location 3 days a week
  • Bachelor’s Degree

The Ideal Qualifications

  • Understanding of data analytics techniques, dashboard creation, and experience with statistical analysis; proficiency with reporting tools such as MicroStrategy and Tableau
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to articulate progress, raise concerns, and document actions required in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated experience developing presentations and story-telling, for all levels of the organization
  • Exhibits high energy level, takes initiative, and drives results while demonstrating creativity, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing environment
  • Ability to lead complex, independent initiatives to answer strategic technology, data, and cyber questions
  • Structured and logical thinker. Ability to quickly break down roadmap complexities, prioritize analyses, and effectively discern what is most important to draw out insights and implications
  • Able to see the “big picture” and prioritize the most valuable insights and build a compelling narrative
  • Possesses excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • A strong collaborator who consistently demonstrates a focus on and ability to work as a team
  • Proactive in behavior, operates with an "at cause" mindset, with a sense of urgency to deliver results
  • Knowledge of financial services industry and product landscape
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong academic track record including quantitative coursework
  • Experience with market research and trends
  • Preferred - Master’s degree in business administration (MBA)
