The Opportunity

The newly announced Corporate Functions Program Management Office (CFPMO) is seeking an experienced project management professional to support the stand-up of the new organization and serve as the Project Management Planning Consultant.

The Team

The CFPMO oversees the execution of initiatives across Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk, Investment Management, Law, and HR & Employee Experience, as well as defines and owns project management standards across the company. The team is focused on driving and aligning critical programs and projects across our Corporate Functions, creating more visibility into this work, while enabling better prioritization, collaboration, and execution.

We are a newer team of self-starters, who enjoy solving complex business problems with proven track records of excellence in project management and the ability to quickly structure and manage work in a dynamic, complex environment.

The Impact

As the Project Management Planning Consultant, you will work closely with the CFPMO leadership team, Corporate Function senior leadership, MassMutual PMOs, and project teams to ensure compliance with project governance, drive consistency across projects, and enhance project planning to achieve successful outcomes across Corporate Functions and the broader MassMutual organization.

  • Develop and oversee project governance structure to ensure compliance with project standards and drive consistency across projects

  • Collaborate with leadership and project teams to provide project oversight and accountability by defining reporting cadences and decision-making protocols

  • Ability to intervene in on at-risk projects, assessing issues, and implementing corrective actions to bring projects back on track

  • Lead the development and implementation of frameworks and methodologies to support project scheduling, resource allocation, and timeline management

  • Establish and maintain standardized planning processes across all projects in the CFPMO portfolio, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational goals

  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure consideration of dependencies, cross-functional impacts, and stakeholder requirements

  • Support the integration of project management planning tools to streamline scheduling, tracking, and reporting processes

  • Conduct regular project reviews, identifying potential risks and developing contingency plans to mitigate disruptions

  • Serve as subject matter expert on project management methodologies, providing guidance critical path analysis, resource leveling, and risk management

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and expertise

  • 8+ years of project management experience

  • 1 + years of proven success leading and executing large complex projects, programs, and/or portfolios

  • 1+ years of experience in intervening on at-risk projects, assessing issues, and implementing corrective actions to bring projects back on track

The Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience in wealth management and/or insurance industry sectors

  • Advanced knowledge of project management tools and capabilities (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Clarity, MS Office 365, SharePoint, Lucid chart etc.,)

  • Project Management Certification (i.e. PMP, PgMP, PfMP, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (i.e., Waterfall, Agile, and Lean) and frameworks

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders

Salary Range:

$121,800.00-$159,800.00
