The Opportunity

The newly announced Corporate Functions Program Management Office (CFPMO) is seeking an experienced project management professional to support the stand-up of the new organization and serve as the Resource Management Director across MassMutual’s Corporate Functions.

The Team

The CFPMO was established to oversee the execution of initiatives across Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk, Investment Management, Law, and HR & Employee Experience, as well as define and own project management standards across the company. The team is focused on creating more visibility into this work, while enabling better improved prioritization, collaboration, and execution.

We are a newer team of self-starters, who enjoy solving complex business problems, with proven track records of excellence in project management and the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in dynamic, complex environments. The Impact

As the Resource Management Director, you will work closely with the CFPMO leadership team, Corporate Function senior leadership, MassMutual PMOs, and project teams to advise, oversee, and manage a flexible resource pool of cross-functional project resources and ensure they are effectively allocated to projects based on skill sets, capacity, and prioritization.

  • Develop and implement strategies to execute the effective allocation and utilization of resources across the CPFMO
  • Oversee a flexible resource pool of cross-functional project resources ensuring successful performance and that they are effectively allocated to projects based on skill sets, capacity, and prioritization, remaining agile to shifting demands

  • Lead the resource planning process, collaborating with project managers, portfolio leads, and leadership to forecast resource requirements and address any gaps based on project pipelines

  • Identify development opportunities based on resource needs, ensuring that team members have the skills required for current and future projects

  • Collaborate with Procurement to execute all contractual obligations for all vendor management processes to include contract negotiation, renewals, change orders, SOWs, and purchase orders

  • Oversee vendor management financial reporting to include audits, reconciliation, and invoice processing

  • Define clear metrics to ensure resource management strategies align with CPFMO goals, project priorities, and strategic objectives

  • Continuously evaluate and refine resource management processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and adaptability to project demands

  • Serve as the Supplier Relationship Manager for all contingent labor suppliers within the CPFMO portfolios

The Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project management experience

  • 3+ years in a leadership position overseeing resource allocation and vendor management

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and expertise

The Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience in wealth management and/or insurance industry sectors

  • Advanced knowledge of resource management and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Clarity, MS Office 365, SharePoint, etc.,)

  • Project Management Certification (i.e. PMP, PgMP, PfMP, etc.)

  • Strong ability to analyze and forecast resource data to make informed decisions that account for project requirements and resource capacity

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and external vendors

  • Strong understanding of vendor management processes including time management, invoice processing, and contract compliance

  • Proven success leading and managing resources across multiple large-scale projects

  • Expertise in managing vendor/supplier relationships, including contract negotiation

  • Familiarity with Ariba or similar procurement systems for managing vendor transactions, requisitions, and expense tracking

Salary Range:

$124,800.00-$163,800.00
