Intro and job overview:

Precisely is currently seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager who can lead cross-functional EngageOne Scrum teams. You will be responsible for ensuring that your teams manage their work and drive engineering best practices whilst enjoying what they do.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Directly manage and lead engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
  • Maintain a keen awareness of team dynamics to ensure team satisfaction, productivity, and performance.
  • Utilize your technical expertise to benefit the team, setting an example in tackling complex problems and facilitating technical discussions to achieve consensus.
  • Continuously enhance your technical knowledge, stay abreast of industry advancements, and align the team's practices with the latest technologies.
  • Drive the estimation, planning, and coordination of product releases, ensuring commitments are met with high standards of quality, performance, and security.
  • Identify, communicate, and address issues, risks, and constraints faced by the team, providing data-driven recommendations for resolution.
  • Challenge existing processes and technical implementations based on your experience, promoting innovation and efficiency.
  • Mentor and coach team members to foster continuous improvement and support their career progression.
  • Hire and retain high-performing team members, building a strong and capable engineering team.
  • Work closely with stakeholders such as Product Management, User Experience, Customer Support, hosted solutions, and other departments to resolve dependencies or escalations.
  • Ensure all work adheres to documented standards, maintaining consistency and quality across the team's output.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering in Java (preferably) or C#, Python or Angular.
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS platform or similar.
  • 1+ years of experience in hiring, mentoring and leading engineering teams.
  • Full experience of releasing complex software products to markets across the full SDLC.
  • Extensive knowledge of web application technologies and development tools.
  • Extensive experience of agile development environments and coaching continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a global, diverse team.
  • Strong communication skills, including speaking and writing fluently in English.
  • Team-oriented, creative and an exceptional problem solver.
  • Experience learning new skills and launching them with a team.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with both on premise, hosted and SaaS development
  • Experience with test automation framework
