Manager, Business Development

Rapid7 is looking for a motivational and experienced Business Development Manager to be responsible for driving revenue growth through lead generation. You will manage a team of Business Development Reps, set the prioritisation and direction for your team and be passionate about helping them grow and develop through mentorship and coaching. This is a critical role for the long term success of Rapid7 as you will be instrumental in building our salesforce of the future!

About the Team

Our Business Development team sits within our Demand Generation function and is responsible for the creation of warm and cold leads for our Sales organisation. Integral to the success of Rapid7, this team plays a key role in building pipeline for our sales engine, directly contributing to revenue growth across our EMEA business. Our Business Development team has a proven track record in developing BDR’s into high performing Account Executives through our EMEA Business Development programme, so there is no better place to begin, or continue, your lucrative career in High-Tech Sales.

About the Role

As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a team and for lead generation across the UK, MEA and the Nordics. You will ensure your team feels supported and engaged whilst driving performance to meet and exceed targets and goals.

In this role you will:

  • Hire, onboard, develop and coach a team of reps as they grow through our BDR programme on their journey to becoming Account Executives

  • Create a culture of excellence within your team, consistently meeting or exceeding targets and goals

  • Help your team get creative, experimenting with new outbound approaches to generate new leads

  • Provide real-time hands on training, comfortable picking up the phone to demonstrating best practices as you coach and mentor your team

  • Ensure prompt and effective response and follow up to all inbound leads

  • Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to ensure the smooth transition and handover of opportunities to our sales teams

  • Ensure your team sets a great first impression of Rapid7 to our customers

  • Network and connect internally to build strong relationships cross functionally

The skills you’ll bring include:

  • Experience leading Business Development teams covering EMEA markets with a blend of hybrid and remote employees

  • Passionate about building and developing high performing and engaged teams to deliver phenomenal results in a target driven environment

  • Ability to monitor performance, holding the team accountable to meeting an 8 figure pipeline generation quota

  • Growth mindset. You see failure as an opportunity to grow, you learn from your mistakes and view feedback as critical to your success

  • A customer centric approach to sales with the ability to drive that throughout your teams, understanding the customers needs and drivers and putting the customer at the forefront of all decision making

  • Strong cross-functional skills, with the ability and desire to build relationships with other teams to achieve broader company objectives
