The Opportunity

Rapid7's Global Education Services team is looking for an experienced Technical Instructional Designer for our team. This is an opportunity to build engaging content to support the onboarding and certification of our Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) partners around the globe. Rapid7 is seeking a candidate that brings the right blend of technical knowledge and instructional design skills to enhance our overall Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) learning and certification experience. This person reports to the Sr. Manager of Education Services team. Duties And Responsibilities

  • Architect a curricula most appropriate for the MSSP professional persona

  • Create e-Learning and Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) courseware using Articulate Storyline, Google slides and Techsmith Camtasia programs

  • Create technical certification that aligns with the milestones communicated by the MSSP and Partner Enablement team

  • Publish and manage content on theLearning Management System (Skilljar)

  • Curate written, video, and webinar content from partner-facing and product teams in a centralized and indexed Learning Management System

  • Develop and standardize content that enables MSSP professionals throughout the MSSP lifecycle and in all major geographies

  • Create a unified brand experience across all MSSP training content and associated courseware

  • Collaborate with stakeholders in Managed Services, and the MSSP Enablement team to ensure content production is aligned with learner needs and product adoption goals

  • Work alongside the MSSP program team to increase time to value and reduce reliance on customer support tickets

  • Apply principles of adult learning and cognitive load practices to eLearning content

  • Create a social learning experience that will nurture a community of MSSP partners around the globe using engaging experiences such as webinars, demonstrations, and technical challenges

Desired Skills And Experience

  • Prior experience teaching or deploying enterprise or cloud-based solutions

  • Prior experience producing customer content (videos, eLearning modules, technical presentations, lab guides)

  • Excel at visual storytelling using delivery tools such as powerpoint presentations and eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication

  • Demonstrated ability to transform Instructor-Led Training (ILT) content into an eLearning experience

  • Demonstrated ability to create new content following the ADDIE model of curriculum development

  • Ability to manage multiple projects within tight timeframes

  • Ability to work effectively on global and virtual teams and accommodate time differences

  • Strong project management skills, must be able to self-manage content development process and collaborate with SMEs to produce high quality and impactful content

  • Experience working in cybersecurity preferred but not required; knowledge of the personas working in the cybersecurity community

  • Work in a fast-paced, rewarding environment with tight deadlines and minimal supervision that demands high quality, creativity and consistency

Education and Certifications: ANY of the following

  • BS or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar

  • Professional certification from online training organizations

  • Certified Technical Trainer or Certified Curriculum Developer credential from a military or government agency
