About the Role

Rapid7 is seeking an experienced, highly motivated candidate to join our growing finance organization as a Senior SEC Reporting Analyst. The position is responsible for supporting the compilation and analysis of data related to timely, accurate disclosures for required SEC periodic filings on Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K. The role will provide significant opportunity to work closely with various cross functional teams (e.g., General Ledger Accounting, Tax, Investor Relations and Legal). The position requires a high energy, results oriented person with strong technical accounting skills responsible for high quality financial reporting in a multi-task environment. This position will report to the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in the preparation of financial statements including annual and quarterly SEC reporting on Forms 10-K,10-Q and 8-K including review of XBRL

  • Lead the preparation/collection of supporting schedules and documentation for SEC filings and perform tie-outs

  • Prepare quarterly and annual disclosure checklists

  • Support external auditors’ audit/reviews of SEC filings

  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing monitoring of significant new accounting pronouncements and their related impact on disclosures under US GAAP

  • Prepare share-based compensation accounting including month-end close procedures through journal entry preparation and account reconciliation

  • Prepare the calculation of earnings per share

  • Lead review of impairment testing of goodwill, intangible and long-lived assets, including evaluation of potential impairment indicators

  • Identify opportunities to streamline SEC reporting via automation or other options

  • Support Sarbanes Oxley compliance process related to equity and financial reporting

  • Perform other ad-hoc duties and projects as needed

The skills you’ll bring include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance. Current Certified Public Accountant or working toward CPA license

  • Relevant experience from a combination of 4+ years with either a large public CPA firm or public company industry experience

  • Current understanding of technical accounting pronouncements, US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations

  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills

  • Knowledge of share-based compensation accounting

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Knowledge of Workiva Wdesk a plus

  • Detail oriented and well organized with the ability to work independently and under tight deadlines
