Job Description:

Accountabilities:

Represent Manage Direct Tax (MDT) operation in Pillar 2 Project Team and contribute to following:

  • Identification data requirement and system changes;

  • Participation in setting up process framework (KAS, TDRT, RASCI, Wis, BCP etc.) and ensure zero waste process;

  • Co-contribution in development of solution / brining innovative ideas;

  • BEPS Pillar 2 Compliance

  • Performance of UAT for interim and final tool / solution so develop and provide inputs to Pillar 2 Project and assurance to MDT Operations;

  • Proactive identification of risks and put the best efforts in remediation

  • Co-contribute to digital aspiration of Shell for Pillar 2 compliance;

  • Share the best tax accounting practices and challenges during implementation of Pillar 2 tool (interim and final);

  • Provide regional inputs in Training Agenda;

  • Participation in forming compliance framework for group record management policy

Interact with Regional MDT teams and ensure smooth & real-time flow of information / engagements through:

  • Monitoring external developments and developing Shell approach to jurisdictional Qualifying minimum Domestic Top Up Tax (QDMTT) under guidance of with Heads of Tax Filing and Reporting (HOFRs);

  • Bring these inputs back to Pillar 2 Project Team and explore leverage upon common data set, process framework etc. to jurisdictional QDMTT;

  • Identifying training needs for MDT Operations and assisting their delivery with help of HOFRs and Pillar 2 Project team;

  • Providing real time updates to HOFRs and their delegates on Pillar 2 Project progress; and

  • Support and deliver tax reporting for Pillar 2 compliance from Q1FY24 (including but not limited to review safe harbor computations and Pillar 2 tax computations, review determination top up tax and allocation / segmentation, review of MJE and R1 check)

  • Effective collaboration with MDT, Country Tax Team, Group Reporting, R&A etc. to ensure successful implementation of Pillar 2 compliance framework

  • Ensure correct and timely escalations on roadblocks and implement intervention brought in effectively​

Skills and Requirements:

  • (CA) Chartered Accountant with minimum 8 years of corporate tax experience working with professional firms or multinational firms or KPO;

  • Strong corporate tax, IFRS and tax accounting knowledge within or outside of Shell (Knowledge of BEPS Pillar and Pillar 2 will be preferred);

  • Working knowledge of various ERP systems and excellent MS Office skill;

  • Learners’ mindset to understand architecture of various IT systems and tools & use them in effectively (day to day operation to automation projects);

  • Efficient project management and tax prioritization skills;

  • Effective influencing and communication skills both written and oral (ability to explain complex tax concepts in layman language is critical); and

  • Ability to coach and impart such skills in the team.
