Job Description:

What’s the role?

The Shell Offshore Wind team is seeking a Package Lead to be part of the Offshore Wind team in Houston, Texas or New York, NY or Trenton, New Jersey or Boston, Massachusetts. The location for this role is flexible within the US. This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery strategy of the Electrical Works for the Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind Farm Projects. As projects progress to the Front-End phase, this team member will lead the schedule, budget, scope, quality, risk, and interfaces for the work package.

Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate with the design team to ensure that the design is developed in compliance with the company best practice, cross portfolio strategy, good industry practices, as well as applicable codes and standards

  • Manage overall package schedule, including key milestones, and detailed planning of activities

  • Manage and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure updates are shared and provided on other work packages and scopes that are being executed on simultaneously

  • Document CAPEX and OPEX budget for package and maintain control of the package budget

  • Ensure risk assessments are carried out to identify risk and mitigation actions are planned accordingly

  • Work with HSE Manager, employees, and contractors to plan and define the work within safety management plan

  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to develop quality management plan

  • Ensure that both team members and contractors comply with the QM-plan and ensure that specifications are met both on products and processes

Requirements:

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the USA on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience within wind and/or other electrical generation sectors

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Science required; Master’s Degree or other advanced degree (JD) is considered an asset

  • Proven experience with Contracting Process and Contract Management

  • PMP Certification desired

The base salary range for this position is $146,000.00 - $218,000.00 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents. Additionally, employees are eligible for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays. Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind, LLC (Atlantic Shores), a 50:50 partnership between Shell New Energies US and EDF Renewables. Atlantic Shores is comprised of purpose-driven professionals dedicated to delivering its 5+ gigawatt offshore wind portfolio, strategically positioned to meet the growing demands of multiple east coast markets including New York and New Jersey.
Atlantic Shores has three offshore wind energy lease areas totaling more than 262,000 acres under active development and is the largest offshore wind project in the State of New Jersey and the third largest project awarded in the United States. Construction will begin in 2024 and first power is expected in 2027. Project 1 will generate enough clean energy to power more than 700,000 homes and bring $848 million in guaranteed local economic benefits to the state.
