What's the role?
Drive the technical direction of our data science projects
Ensure that we are using the latest and greatest techniques to deliver valuable insights
Provide technical assurance for data science project across broader Commercial Data Science Portfolio
Works within a variety of well-defined and standard R&D techniques, procedures, and practices.
Works under general guidance and work instructions (work is being checked by manager or senior colleagues), which requires the job holder to apply a combination of applied and theoretical knowledge within a well-defined scope. Has knowledge about a specific discipline and may coach less experienced colleagues, but not yet regarded as an internal or external expert.
Supports the Data Analytics team in the design and execution of analytics projects.
Works with data and technology experts to help execute analytics projects and deploy solutions.
Develops optimal analytical models that address the business requirement, with acceptable levels of accuracy.
Writes efficient code that incorporates best practices in that technology.
Supports the design and delivery of analytics projects, within or cutting across different business units in Shell.
Job Requirement:
Bachelor of Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Quantitative Finance etc
4 years of working experience as Data Scientist
Solid managerial track record
Excellent stakeholder management/ business partnering skills
Multiple data science/AI projects delivered
Advanced knowledge of forecasting
Commercial mindset (understanding of Energy industry is a bonus)
Experience in delivering Analytics projects for Finance (bonus)
Proficiency in Python
GitHub repo to showcase work is an advantage
Familiarity with cloud technology, SQL, and object-oriented programming (bonus)
Understanding of finance and financial accounting (bonus)
Expertise in statistics and mathematics
Data quality analysis, hypothesis testing, and advanced timeseries forecasting techniques
Proficiency in other programming languages like C++, Java, and SCALA (bonus)
