Job Description:

What’s the role?

The successful candidate will work in an integrated high-performance Brazil Subsurface team, located in London (Shell Centre). This role will be part of a cross-functional subsurface team and in this role, you will contribute to the reservoir characterization, digitalization, reservoir management and incremental development of one of the Brazil deep water Non-Operated Venture assets, (Sapinhoa, Lapa, Sururu, Atapu, and Berbigao). The focus of these activities is internal maturation of projects and external alignment with partners.

The Reservoir Engineer will work closely with the Subsurface and Discipline Lead(s) and will be key in delivering:

  • HSSE: Supporting and delivering subsurface safety critical activities
  • Building and maintaining reservoir simulation models
  • Reservoir engineering analytical studies in support of reservoir management and modelling
  • Pressure transient analysis & reservoir simulation model calibration
  • Technical inputs to reserves reporting and business planning
  • Support for competitive scoping on field development plans, infill opportunities and recovery factor improvement
  • Digitalization initiatives including visualization and reservoir data analytics
  • External engagements including presenting at Technical Committee Meetings and Subsurface Workshops

  • Asset Subsurface team leads and subsurface coordinators
  • Integrated subsurface team members
  • Senior and Principal Reservoir Engineers & Geoscientists
  • RE Discipline Leads and technical authorities
  • Subject Matter Experts
  • Development Managers
  • Production Technology & Concept Engineering
  • Deepwater Development, Projects and Technology organizations in London, Rio and Houston.
  • Integration with Global IRM and Subsurface excellence teams

What we need from you

  • Experience in delivery of subsurface safety critical activities
  • Relevant Petroleum Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Sound understanding of key reservoir engineering principles (Reservoir Simulation, PVT (Pressure Volume Temperature), Rel-Perm, PTA (Pressure Transient Analysis)
  • Experience with Integrated Reservoir Modeling, including uncertainty handling.
  • Eclipse, Petrel and INTERSECT experience would be an advantage
  • Experience working with large & complex production data sets an advantage
  • Python programming skills would be advantageous
  • Awareness of carbonates G&G characterization workflows – experience of working on heterogenous/fractured reservoirs an advantage
  • Experience with governance processes
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Well-developed reporting and presentation skills are helpful
