Job Description:

Where you fit in

You will support the operations activities for the safe operation and optimization of all field assets and equipment on the QGC Midstream LNG facility. The role involves supporting the Operations Support Manager for short- and medium-term delivery of operational outcomes against the business plan.

This role is based on Curtis Island with a daily Ferry commute, in a 5/2 work roster.

What’s the role?

Your accountabilities include the following:

  • Ensuring that the ESP (Ensure Safe Production) processes and structures are in place, supported and assured so that day to day tasks and activities of the Production shift teams are managed and executed consistently and with focus on process safety, operational excellence, and integrity.
  • Champion the Process Safety Fundamentals for the QGC Midstream asset and support management of the Asset Integrity- Process Safety mission for Operations.
  • Champion Operations Management of Change (MOC) submissions, acting as the Responsible Job Person and consistent focal point for the MOC delivery.
  • Act as the Proactive Technical Monitoring (PTM) focal point for Operations in coordinating actions and implementation.
  • Act as the alarms focal point for Operations in coordinating actions and implementation.
  • Support in the daily identification and optimization of operating variables to achieve maximum plant efficiency in discussion with shifts and process engineers, particularly in providing automated solutions to optimization. Participate in priority setting in consultation with the Production Manager, Operations and DCS Maintenance Coordinators and Production Shift Manager.
  • Liaise closely with Engineering disciplines to implement guidelines set for efficient operation.
  • Coach shift personnel of various background (culture), level and expertise.
  • Instill a robust process and personal safety awareness culture to shift staff by actively pursuing the use of the Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Case, up-to-date isolation record, Permit to Work compliance and job safety analysis in order to support an improved standard of operational activities and Quality/HSSE awareness of shift personnel.
  • Support the maintenance of operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Responsible for leading Operations HSSE, quality and reliability incident investigations, close out of incident reports and action findings.
  • Operations focal point for coordination of input to and output from Operational Risk Assessments.
  • On an assigned basis, support in details all the change activities on the plant such as tests, start-up, shutdown, abnormal operation.

What we need from you

We are keen to speak to individuals with the following:

  • Process engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience with significant post-graduation experience in either LNG, refining or chemicals industries. Knowledge of LNG production, emergency response, maintenance and marine protocols would be advantageous.
  • Mastery of the ESP and Process Safety Fundamentals principles. Understanding of LNG safety policies and procedures.
  • Experience in process engineering change systems to support the Production Manager in the MOC process to prioritise and direct the engineering change process for HSSE and or production gains.
  • Experience in Permit to Work systems including implementation of new policies and procedures would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact and influence effectively with every level of the organization.
  • Ability to define issues, collect data, draw valid conclusions, and develop and implement gap closure plans. Lean and continuous improvement skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to deliver training within core technical discipline and facilitate meetings.
  • Strong organization and task management skills that deliver the work products. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in working with KPI guidelines to deliver monthly requirements aligned to the QGC Midstream annual business plans.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to relate to both staff and contract employees. Able to build vision and deliver through others. May deputise for the Production Manager as required.
