As a Senior Architect in Shell’s Group Enterprise Architecture capability with a specialization in Carbon and Sustainability, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing strategic architectural solutions that align technology initiatives with business goals. Collaborating closely with senior stakeholders, you will design architecture strategies, data strategies, and digitalization roadmaps to optimize organizational processes and enhance efficiency, all while integrating carbon and sustainability considerations into every facet of your architectural approach.
What’s the role?
As a Senior Architect specializing in Carbon and Sustainability, your role will encompass the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Architecture Leadership: Provide strategic direction by defining and executing architecture designs that encompass diverse aspects, including business processes, data, applications, technical infrastructure, and security. Your focus on cost, time, and quality will ensure the realization of architecture solutions that drive business outcomes
- Maximizing Business Value: Leverage your expertise to derive optimal business value from IT solutions. Align with business needs, existing IT portfolios, and emerging technology capabilities to create architecture designs that translate into tangible value for the organization
- Carbon and Sustainability Integration: Demonstrate a strong commitment to environmentally conscious solutions by seamlessly integrating carbon and sustainability considerations into your architectural efforts. Lead the charge in creating architecture designs that contribute to the organization's commitment to sustainability
- Strategic Design Alignment: Position architecture designs within broader perspectives, such as enterprise, portfolio, or platform levels. Ensure your designs align with long-term IT technology strategies, contributing to the overall success of the organization's technology roadmap
- Autonomous Design Execution: Translate architectural guidelines into practical solutions. Address technical challenges while adhering to established frameworks and company policies. Your autonomous design execution will contribute to maintaining consistency and efficiency within architectural practices
- Collaborative Project Engagement: Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. Manage smaller architectural tasks with supervision to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with project objectives
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with Project Managers and Business Teams, ensuring that architecture efforts align closely with project objectives. Your communication skills will be key in conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Standard Architecture Tools: Utilize architecture tools like Bizzdesign, PowerDesigner, and others to facilitate architectural processes and deliver desired outcomes efficiently
What we need from you
In this role as a Senior Architect specializing in Carbon and Sustainability at Shell, we are eager to connect with IT professionals who are committed to developing and expanding their expertise in Solution Architecture, especially within the realm of carbon and sustainability. We invite individuals who meet the following criteria to join our team:
- A solid educational background, ideally bolstered by certifications in the Carbon and Sustainability field
- A proven track record of strategic architectural leadership, showcasing the capacity to maximize business value through IT solutions
- A sincere dedication to infusing carbon and sustainability principles into architectural strategies, aligning technology initiatives with our commitment to environmental responsibility
Technically:
- Hands-on demonstrable experience in architecting migrations/re platforming of legacy applications into Azure/AWS platform
- Experience of Microservices, 12 Factor Apps, Cloud Native applications, Data platform
- Integration: Kafka, Logic Apps, API management
- While you experience in working with Enterprise Architecture tools such as BiZZDesign is not required, it will certainly be beneficial in your application
