This position is a hands-on multi-disciplinary role with emphasis on supporting the operations of next generation clinical microbiology instruments. The Selux AST System consists of automated machinery that integrates chemical, biological, electrical, software, and mechanical components. With the direction of the engineering team, the ideal candidate will help maintain instruments for daily use, as well as develop a better understanding of real-world operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and document test procedures to help characterize performance and reliability of Selux instruments
- Perform documented test procedures and record results
- Develop and maintain maintenance routines for Selux instrumentation
- Maintain instruments for daily use by other laboratory personnel
- Assist engineers with troubleshooting system failures and determining root cause
- Willing to travel (<25%) to offsite locations to service instruments undergoing clinical trials
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with complex robotic instruments
- Impeccable organizational and time management skills
- Ability to follow Good Laboratory Practices
- Ability to document and follow experimental procedures
- Experience with standard lab equipment (balance, pipette, ect)
- Experience using basic hand tools
- Associates degree in engineering technology or similar
