The Operational Product Manager is responsible for the tactical planning of a product portfolio and provide operational support for all existing products in series production (6 months after SOP). The role requires the ability to develop operational roadmaps on existing products that align with the company’s strategic, operational, and financial objectives.

Responsibilities:

Product Life Cycle Management

Product Roadmaps - Partners with Engineering, Customer PMT, Sales, Marketing, Global Operations (Sourcing, Quality, Production), Product Families and the Customer to develop/communicate actionable-operational product roadmaps (down to item level) within the region in support of our business objectives and product strategy (i.e. obsolescence, next gen, etc). Roadmaps to be considered: cost reduction, capacity, dual source, quality.

NBO Support – Provides inputs to the NBO team on product and cost roadmaps and provide longer term capacity confirmation as well.

Change Management - Manages the pipeline of project ideas and opportunities to secure alignment between Engineering, Customer PMT, Global Operations and Product Families; ensures that the pipeline of projects enable the business to meet its strategic objectives. Is the regional CRB owner, conducting a monthly regional CRB board meeting to review and approve new project ideas.

Service, EOL & Obsolescence - Optimizes our product portfolio by identifying service and declining products and helps define the right strategy to minimize risk and maximize value for Sensata (e.g. last time builds, last time buys, inventory models, price increases, etc). Owns the LTB project including driving actions with customer.

Operational Performance

Quality - Supports the Customer Service and Quality organization as required for crisis management

Delivery - Supports the Customer Service and Business Operations organization as required for crisis management. Monitors and drives problem resolutions to meet our OTD targets (e.g. raw material expediting, vendor resolutions) and drives systemic corrective actions for multiple customer events or generic product line issues. Collaborates with Global Operations in the development of the required supply chain model to meet our customer needs.

Financial

Financials - Monitors the financial risks and opportunities by Product Line, developing and executing risk mitigation and opportunity identification to achieve the annual plan and drive margin growth in future years.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • A university degree and 4-6 years of experience.

  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.

  • You have experience with negotiating and a strong commercial drive that contributes to an optimal Last Time Buy process.

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation.

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results.

  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity.

  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization
