The Operations team within Antrim Sensata is seeking an individual with a proven procurement background to manage the strategic and tactical procurement processes and to develop integration with Sensata in relation to procurement processes.

The ideal candidate is an individual that is passionate about operational excellence and performance, driven to improve efficiency and accuracy in repeatable processes, skilled at building quality relationships through performance and compliance, and comfortable working across multiple time-zones within which we operate globally.

You will be responsible for developing procurement strategies and managing all Procurement activities for direct and indirect spend for Sensata Antrim make site.

General Responsibilities
• Manage direct, evaluate, and develop a team of purchasing staff to ensure the team's resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met
• Manages plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing purchasing activities
• Responsible for reviewing policies, checklists, and other materials that describe the organization's technical, quality, service, or reliability standards to help purchasing staff evaluate supplier proposals
• Manage team of buyers to ensure they follow established procedures and policies
• Manage and evaluate the organization's overall purchasing trends to potential bulk purchases

Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
• Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Specific Responsibilities

  • Leads complex sourcing deals, driving the supplier strategy, selection, and negotiations in alignment with the global category strategy.
  • Manage, evaluate, and develop a team of purchasing professionals to ensure the team's resources are used effectively and targets are met, while following established procedures and policies.
  • Leads the implementation of innovative business solutions, including promoting and implementing global initiatives locally. Plays an active role in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Manages material cost for the site and ensures annual/quarterly targets are met. Monitors cost performance monthly and delivers improved results according to financial forecasts.
  • Supports the development of sourcing processes for assessing and fulfilling current and future procurement needs. Acts as process owner and champion for the strategic sourcing at the site and ensures global strategies consider local needs.
  • Develops supplier relationships, builds trust and partnerships with the supply base, aiming for continuous improved results.
  • Understands the supply base, and works on projects to improve suppliers’ performance, including cost, quality, delivery, technology. Identify poor performing suppliers and actively work with business partners to address them.
  • Responsible for reviewing policies, checklists, and other materials that describe the organization's technical, quality, service, or reliability standards to help purchasing staff evaluate supplier proposals.
  • Collaborates with Global Procurement team, Design Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and other functions to achieve the company’s targets, reduce cost, and improve the supply base.
  • Highlights operational, regulatory, and other risks to the Site General Manager and Global Procurement team. Takes ownership for procurement issues and actively participates in their resolution.

Specific Experience / Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in relevant field; an MBA or other master’s degree is an advantage. We will also consider outstanding candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement using strategic techniques to achieve results.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience & the ability to develop and lead a team to deliver on cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Experience in managing sourcing projects and improving supplier cost, quality, inventory, and on-time delivery.
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Proven relationship building skills and success in collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders and functions; comfortable interacting with senior executives.
  • Team player, able to work in virtual, global teams in a dual reporting matrix organization. Comfortable with complex global organization structures.
  • Strong knowledge of supplier manufacturing processes and proven experience in cost reduction and the creation of savings opportunities.
  • Innovative problem-solver who can adapt to a dynamic environment and drive issues to closure, handle challenges confidently and be able to prioritize multiple, often competing demands.
  • Experienced in using benchmarking and cost analysis tools to deliver negotiation outcomes exceeding the average market indicators.
