Newall is a global supplier of high-quality and high-performance digital readout systems (DRO) and linear feedback encoders.

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join our Leicester based team.

This is a great opportunity to contribute to and learn all aspects of Quality within a production environment at a technology-based manufacturing company. The role will be very varied, and training will be offered, as required for all required aspects of the role to support this. Ideal for a candidate looking to progress to Quality Manager level in the future.

General Responsibilities

  • Compile and monitor 8D and other reports for Customers and from Suppliers
  • Input into customer, supplier, and internal audits.
  • Work with an external subcontractor to achieve and maintain ISO9001 accreditation.
  • Maintain and update process flows to keep the company QMS up to date.
  • Work with purchasing dept to monitor supplier performance.
  • Lead goods inwards and in-process inspections efforts including compiling some inspection documents and investigating issues reported by the production team.
  • Contribute to Health & Safety audits either directly or by organising a subcontractor.

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Commercial knowledge of quality aspects within a manufacturing environment and genuine interest in the industry.
  • Understanding of mechanical and/or electronic inspection. Experience reading engineering drawings an advantage.
  • Ability to map existing company process’ and check against BSI standards.
  • Developing process flows, using MS Visio, MS Excel or similar software package.
  • Auditing experience and advantage.
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

We offer a comprehensive remuneration package with this role. This job will require the successful applicant to travel to the site on a daily basis.
