  • Actively contributing to the development of sustainable maintenance strategies, which drive overall system reliability improvement.

What’s the role?

The position is for an individual with Mechanical Engineering experience, who will become part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, tasked with developing systemic solutions for operational and technical performance problems.

You will be working closely with all engineering disciplines, crafts, and operators, as well as subject matter experts and specialists in order to create a performance improvement mindset. This cross-functional perspective provides the opportunity to participate and influence in almost all aspects of the plant operation.

Your accountabilities include:

  • Championing the use of structured investigation within the organization to drive reliability improvement through understanding and addressing the causes that create poor performance.

  • Providing general support to the broader reliability team and asset work processes.

  • Actively participating in all phases on the investigative work and interface with suppliers, vendors, engineering staff and craft as required to understand the design intent of the equipment being analyzed.

You will thrive through:

  • Your broad knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including appropriate design standards, modelling, and investigation techniques.

  • Actively seeking to understand underlying causes of actual or potential undesired performance outcomes.

  • Your skill at analyzing and understanding data and connecting separate data streams together to create a complete picture of the problem.

  • Quickly picking up concepts from outside of core discipline or experience.

  • Your ability to effectively express ideas and transfer knowledge to a broad audience, reason Causally and think in terms of Cause and Effect, share ideas through “inquiry” rather than “advocacy”.

  • Strong leadership ability to coordinate and facilitate investigative work.

  • Knowledge / Skill of Reliability Engineering Principles, practices and application and ability to discern appropriate application including but not limited to: Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Causal Learning investigation techniques, Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA), MEI analysis, Proactive Threat Identification Exercises (PTIE) etc.

What we need from you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Significant mechanical engineering experience

  • Technical degree in engineering preferred.

  • Experience in additional engineering disciplines will be well regarded.

  • LNG and/or Offshore experience will be an advantage.

  • Experience with cause-based investigations would be beneficial but is not a requirement as this will be in role development activity.

We are keen to support flexible working arrangements, subject to local regulations and legislative frameworks. If this is of interest to you, please describe in your application the type of flexible working arrangements for which you would like to be considered.
