The business has its own catalyst manufacturing assets, JVs and partnerships, who supply 150 Mil Lbs of catalyst products, license technologies, decarb and Energy Transition solutions and provide services to more than 500 customers, working with more than 75 alliances/partners and operating in more than 70 countries with the strategy Powering Today, Energising our Future
This role ensures the site is producing and delivering quality products. They provide daily analytical testing and reporting for quality assurance/quality control supporting manufacturing processes and customer requirements. The Laboratory Technician is part of the SC&T’s Catalysts Manufacturing & Supply Operations and reports administratively to the Technical Manager. They will receive day to day direction from the Lab Team Lead.
Accountabilities:
HSSE
Understand and comply with all safety and environmental requirements to ensure personal safety and support safe laboratory operations
Conduct administration/laboratory building safety equipment checks
Participate in site safety programs
Production Support
Conduct daily analytical testing and record results into results database
Compare incoming raw material to specifications and load vendor Certificate of Analysis (COA) into SharePoint
Move raw materials and produced products from quality inspection (QI) into the correct SAP location/code based on the materials conformity to specifications
Update process orders in SAP with metal assays as required
Flag non-conforming raw materials or produced products and initiate the waiver process
Issue Certificates of Analysis (COA) for produced products as required
Ship samples to other manufacturing locations, customers, or third parties
Laboratory Equipment Maintenance
Perform instrument calibrations as required
Execute routine maintenance on the equipment
Update logs of equipment maintenance and calibration
Laboratory Supplies
Notify Senior Lab Technician if inventory of laboratory consumables or instrument spare parts is low.
What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
College degree with science background and/or 3+ years of experience in a laboratory setting preferred
Previous experience with analytical instrumentation plus
Experience with ISO systems or working knowledge of ISO systems is required
Computer literacy is a must
Experience with computers as the instruments use a variety of software programs
Required computer skills are a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
Must have good organizational and time management skills as well as the ability and desire to learn new skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
The annual salary range for this role is $70,000 - $106,000. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skill level.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
