Cloud Capability Leader - Senior Director
Slalom is seeking an entrepreneurial and forward-thinking leader to drive the growth and success of our local practice. The Senior Director of Technology Enablement will provide thought leadership to clients, collaborate to establish strategic direction for accounts within their portfolio, and oversee solutions engineering and technical pre-sales, recruitment, consulting and delivery, and operational efficiencies. This role entails ensuring excellence in the execution of technology consulting across areas such as enterprise architecture, technology strategy, software engineering, cloud platform engineering and architectural design, and cloud security.

Cloud Capability Leader - Senior Director
Slalom is seeking an entrepreneurial and forward-thinking leader to drive the growth and success of our local practice. The Senior Director of Technology Enablement will provide thought leadership to clients, collaborate to establish strategic direction for accounts within their portfolio, and oversee solutions engineering and technical pre-sales, recruitment, consulting and delivery, and operational efficiencies. This role entails ensuring excellence in the execution of technology consulting across areas such as enterprise architecture, technology strategy, software engineering, cloud platform engineering and architectural design, and cloud security.
So, what will I do?
- Accountability for growing the technology business, with a specific focus on solutions engineering (i.e., bringing together different Slalom capabilities and integrating with clients for the Toronto market) enterprise architecture, technology strategy, software engineering, cloud platform engineering and architectural design, and cloud security
- Drive our growth with a combination of business development, capability development, talent management, oversight of delivery work, and thought leadership
- Drive business development activities by working with sales executives and client service leads, specifically focused on helping clients drive outcomes and creating meaningful project work for our people
- Work with our Alliance partner teams, supporting providers such as AWS, MSFT and Google, client account leads and mid-market sales executives to tell our best client success stories
- Participate in delivery and engagement management and leadership for our most complex programs
- Build and maintain senior executive-level client partner relationships and expand Slalom's client portfolio within the region
- Team Development – Maximize team performance through an effective team approach that increases productivity and job satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities and sell services to both new and existing clients.
- Manage executive and Senior executive-level client stakeholder relationships and expand Slalom’s client portfolio.
- Work with teams to capture best practices and develop case studies and other core deliverables to build solution offerings.
- Participate in industry forums, events, and speaking engagements; manage production of project deliverables, budget, and presentations to client personnel and leadership.
- Mentor, develop, and proactively support practice capabilities per market demand.
- Prior leadership experience from a consulting background with Cloud infrastructure and operations (AWS, MSFT and GCP), software engineering and/or platform engineering as a focus
- Experience covering a broad business base complemented with a concentration in product development, technology strategy, software engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, and security.
- Demonstrated professional growth and the proven ability to work cross-functionally.
- Proven history of leveraging and growing existing client base; organic business development responsibilities, i.e., growing new accounts/clients from the ground up.
- Experience with managing people, including mentoring and leadership skills.
- Expert consulting business operations experience (e.g., invoicing, SOW, margins, utilization).
- Experienced with solution architecture and technology consulting, ability to envision and put together multi-capability solutions under an enterprise architecture anchored in delivering business outcomes
- Experienced with key technology areas: AWS, Azure, Google GCP, cloud infrastructure, DevOps and Platform Engineering, Security and modern operations methodologies (SRE, GitOps, etc)
- Delivery leadership skills, ability to shape and estimate an engagement with a client, mobilize a team, set the team up for success and support our team and the client to help remove uncertainty and see around corners for technical and delivery risks, working through escalations
- Passion for technology, curiosity to learn more about modern technology and tools in the cloud, software engineering, and data, someone who grew up delivering technology with a technology background
