About The Team And Role
We are seeking a dynamic People Business Partner with strong business acumen, demonstrated experience in employee relations, and an ability to working with employees and leaders in the technology and consulting environment for an exciting opportunity within our Australia and New Zealand People Team.
As part of our growing team, you will play a critical role in shaping and embedding people programs and initiatives across all stages of the employee lifecycle, while also providing expert guidance on complex employment matters. With the increasing complexity and volume of employment relations (ER) matters in our region, this role includes a key focus on strengthening our ER capability — proactively managing risk, navigating complex cases, educating our leaders, and building confidence and consistency in our people practices.
Working under the direction of the Senior Director, Global People Team – Australia, New Zealand & Singapore, you’ll partner closely with business leaders, HR peers, and employees to build capability, manage change, and enable amazing outcomes that drive our business forward. Being a member of our broader Global People Team, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate globally while bringing critical local expertise to bear in the ANZ context.

- Work within the Australia & New Zealand People Team to support the delivery of our People Strategy
- Champion our culture, values and be an advocate for our people
- Provide hands-on support and expert advice on complex ER matters such as investigations, grievances, performance management, restructures, and disciplinary processes
- Partner with leaders to identify emerging ER risks and implement proactive strategies to mitigate them
- Lead or support internal investigations with rigour, objectivity and sensitivity
- Interpret and apply employment legislation across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring risk-aware and commercially sound advice
- Drive and embed best practices across the employee lifecycle, ensuring a consistent and fair experience
- Build ER capability within the business and the broader People team through coaching, training, and the development of practical toolkits
- Provide guidance and coaching to leaders and employees to resolve issues constructively and in line with our values
- Collaborate on change management initiatives and support leaders through periods of organisational change
- Support and implement a broad range of people programs aligned to Slalom’s People Strategy
- Partner with Talent Management and Legal teams where needed to align on strategy, advice, and outcomes
- Deliver people metrics and insights to inform decisions and continuously improve our employee experience
- Collaborate and support HR Teams with local and global projects
- Proven experience in a People Business Partner or HR Advisor role, with demonstrated strength in employment relations
- Strong, practical knowledge of Australian and New Zealand employment legislation and experience managing complex ER matters end-to-end
- Experience within more than one pillar of HR is desired - learning and development, compensation, talent management, benefits
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Demonstrated competence in organisational development, workforce planning, coaching, performance management, compensation, and employee relations
- Previous experience supporting Australia and New Zealand based teams
- Experience running or supporting internal investigations, including managing risk, documentation, and outcome processes
- Ability to translate legal frameworks and policy into clear, practical advice aligned with our values and culture
- Demonstrated experience coaching leaders and team members through performance, conduct, and conflict resolution matters
- Strong business acumen, sound judgement, and the ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels
- Previous experience in the tech or consulting sector preferred
- Experience working across multiple pillars of HR is a plus – e.g., talent, L&D, compensation
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a continuous improvement mindset
- Foundational understanding of change management
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
