Manager, Engagement & Retention Marketing

What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Director of Engagement & Retention, the Engagement & Retention Marketing Manager will design and execute marketing communication programs that drive customer retention, engagement, and loyalty. This role involves managing multi-channel marketing strategies, analyzing key customer lifecycle metrics, and sharing actionable insights to optimize strategy and segmentation. You’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure effective and impactful member communications.

- Promotional Strategy & Campaign Management:
- Develop and manage a data-driven promotional calendar in collaboration with the revenue management team. Oversee creative requests, craft messaging strategies, execute multi-channel campaigns (email, push notifications, etc.), and analyze campaign performance to refine results.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Act as the primary liaison for cross-functional teams, including product, analytics, brand, and creative teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment with business goals.
- Data-Driven Strategy:
- Leverage customer insights and revenue forecasts to develop and optimize communication strategies, reporting on campaign performance and key metrics by channel.
- Channel Optimization:
- Establish and report on key performance metrics for all channels, prioritizing resources for maximum efficiency in achieving business objectives.
- Testing & Segmentation:
- Define and implement a robust testing agenda, focusing on segmentation, messaging, frequency, personalization, and send-time optimization. Continuously refine segmentation capabilities with the analytics team.
- Leadership & Execution:
- Lead messaging and positioning efforts with expert copywriting skills, gather internal and external insights to guide strategy, and manage timelines, approvals, and iterations to meet deadlines.
What drives success for a Manager, Engagement & Retention Marketing
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a marketing role, with a focus on multi-channel comms strategies.
- Proven analytical skills with a history of translating insights into actionable plans.
- Expertise in CRM and email marketing, including familiarity with industry KPIs; experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) is a plus.
- Experience in promotional platforms; experience with Talon.One is a plus.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with attention to detail.
- Exceptional project management skills, adept at balancing shifting priorities and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ownership mindset with entrepreneurial spirit and a results-driven approach.
